ChatGPT Shopping answers come from three inputs: the product feeds merchants submit, the review and rating signals attached to products, and the page content the model can read. Feeds decide eligibility, reviews decide ranking, pages decide what gets quoted.
What to do, in order
- Submit a complete product feed to Google Merchant Center, with prices and availability that match your pages.
- Collect real reviews and show them on product pages with aggregateRating markup.
- Write one unique paragraph per product. Copied supplier text is ignored.
- Keep robots.txt open to shopping crawlers, including GPTBot.
What does not help
Keyword stuffing, hidden text, and fake reviews. Models compare your feed price against your page price, and mismatches remove you instead of ranking you.
